Before moving to NY I had never heard the term "foodie". It turns out there is a huge group of people that identify themselves as foodies. It is a hobby for them to go around and informally critique food and drinks. It is also important for foodies to take pictures of their food and then blog about it. Greg and I are by no means "foodies", but we have been enjoying several new places over the past months. So here is my attempt to be a "foodie".
One of Greg's friends from school is from NYC and Italian so what better person to show us around Little Italy. She took us to a great place for dinner called Vincent's that has been in business for over a 100 years. I had spaghetti and meatballs with a spicy marinara sauce. This spicy sauce is what they are famous for-yum. Then for dessert we walked over to a fantastic place called Ferrara Bakery for Italian pasteries. I could enjoy those little treats every day.

The next place we went to was Rosa Mexicano. (This was the restaurant I mentioned in a previous blog that we were finally going to see if it satisfied our Tex-Mex cravings.) I would say it was better than most places we have tried but it was no Tex-Mex. I will give it a great review for there Pomegranate Margarita and fresh guacamole.

This past weekend we met Teresa for brunch at Clinton Street Baking Co. I saw this place on the Food Network for the best blueberry pancakes, and Teresa had mentioned she just went there and it was really good. She warned us that it was a long wait, but we decided to brave it. The restaurant is very small and generally caters to parties of 2. So Greg, Teresa, and I stuck out the wait for 2 1/2 hours! We were all getting a little grumpy and cold, but let me tell you it was completely worth it! Not only were the pancakes wonderful along with a side of maple butter syrup, but their Country Breakfast plate, especially their biscuit was out of this world. It was the best southern comfort breakfast food I have had in a long time!

New York is more than all the sites, it also has such great food, and we are enjoying that experience just as much, if not more!
Side note- I had to get up and have a slice of pizza while writing this, I got so hungry thinking of all this food. And New York pizza really is as good as everyone says (when you find the right place.)
