Flat Stanley

Our nephew Miller sent us a letter and a colored paper doll- Flat Stanley. The letter explained that Miller's class had read a book about a little boy who was flattened by the blackboard and was mailed to California on a trip, where pictures were taken of all the fun he had. So Miller sent us his Flat Stanley to take around New York. Greg and I had such a fun time taking Flat Stanley around and taking pictures. We got a few stares and a few people at Times Square shouted out "Hey it's Flat Stanley!". The best moment was when I asked a few cops in the subway station if they would take a picture, before I could even ask the cop on the right said "I know who that is, I have kids... and I'm not taking a picture with him". I said "Please it's for little boy in Texas!" The cop and his partner gave in easily, they even pretended to put cuffs on him. Enjoy the pictures of all the fun Flat Stanley had!

January

What I remember most about this month is how cold I am. It doesn't help that this last weekend of the month it is the coldest yet. The highs have been in the 20's but with the wind chill it feels more like 7.
Despite how cold it is Greg and I have managed to get out and see a few things. We finally made it over to the Museum of Modern Art. Every Friday from 4-8pm its free, so we headed over. One of the exhibits they have right now is on Tim Burton's work, which looks very interesting. The exhibit only allows so many in at one time, and it was sold out for the day so I guess we will have to go back. Some of the art Greg and I enjoyed, some of it we just didn't get. I really think some ofthe artist say "How can I really mess with someone". Such as an empty white shoe box sitting on the ground in front of a big empty white wall. (Sorry no picture included, No pictures were allowed in that exhibit- go figure.)
Greg celebrated his 31st birthday, we both had worked the night shift the day before so most of his birthday was spent sleeping and ordering take out. We are going to celebrate soon by trying a Mexican Restaurant in Manhattan that Teresa swears really tastes like Mexican food from Texas, we're keeping our finger crossed and I'll let ya know in a future blog.
Greg is about to finish is rotation in OB/GYN, I have lost count on how many babies he has now delivered. He likes the rotation but is ready to move on. There is no chance he will be an OB, the hours are too brutal, he would always be at the hospital or office.
I have been really happy at my new job. Its been a little weird working nights. I am learning the art of "flipping" back and forth from working the night to being up during the day on my days off. I love being around the babies again and the nurses are friendly.
