Greg and I finally made it out to a Yankees Game all the way up in the Bronx. This has been on my to do list for a while. The game was organized by our good friends the Perey's. A bunch of us turned out, so it was not just fun to watch the game but fun catching up with everyone. The stadium was nice and big and new, the cheese steak, garlic fries, popcorn, and ice cream hit the spot, and the fans were so LOUD. I don't think the stadium was even half full and the fans could really make some noise, it was very entertaining. The Yankees won and on our way out "New York New York" was playing by Frankie. It was a perfect evening.... and then the dark side of sports showed up. Several ramp levels down some jerks roughed up an Orioles fan. By the time our group passed, the bad guys were long gone, and some nice Yankee fans were helping the guy out and profusely apologizing. I know this happens every where, it just seems like a constant theme here in NY. Everything can be much more bitter sweet, and the ugly side is just more in your face here. I left angry and my heart hurting for that fan. I can choose to be bitter or sweet, so I choose to remember the sweet parts of that night. And I hope to go back to more games this summer it was just so much fun!
