Greg is 30!

As many of you know Greg's birthday was Sunday and he is now 30! The original plan was to order in pizza and Greg was going to take a short break from studying and then back to the books. But Greg ended up surprising me and decided to take the entire day off, and his request was to go site seeing in Manhattan.
The first place we decided to check out was Central Park. I know the idea was crazy, and we both almost talked ourselves out of it because it was only 18 degrees outside. But 3 layers of clothes, scarfs, hats, gloves, and big coats, and we were out the door. And we are both glad we went. Even though the park will be much prettier any other time of year, it was still very nice to walk around and see all the famous scenic places.

This is Maine Monument found on the South end of the Park

On our walk we crossed over a bridge and decided to snap a photo

The next stop was The Mall and Liberty Walk, this is the place you see in the movies where everyone is sitting and people watching, we tried that but it was too cold!

We kept moving and the next stop was the Angel of the Waters Fountain, as you can see the fountain is turned off for the winter.

Along the way we also saw the Belvedere Castle- who knew there is a castle in Central Park!
At this point we hit the Great Lawn and were cold and hungry so what to do for lunch in NY? Pizza!

After lunch we headed over to The Metropolitan Museum of Art. We saw Egyptian Art, the Temple of Dendur, and then up to the American Wing.
It was a fun afternoon but very exhausting roaming around. We cut the day short and headed home where Greg and I promptly hit the couch and watched TV and movies for the remainder of the day. It was a perfect birthday and when Greg is done with The Boards he will have a big belated 30 bash to celebrate!
